Terms of service

These terms apply when you use changebg.app ("changebg", "we", "us"), operated by Ayush N, India. By using the site or creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use changebg.
1. The service
changebg removes and changes photo backgrounds. The free preview runs on your device. Paid HD photos are processed on our servers. We may improve, change or pause features at any time, and we can't promise the service will always be available or error-free.
2. Accounts
- You need an account to buy HD photos or credits. You must be at least 16 and give a valid email address.
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- One person per account. Don't create accounts to get around limits.
3. Prices, credits and payment
- Prices are shown on the pricing page in US dollars and exclude tax, which is added at checkout where it applies.
- Payments are processed by our payment partner, which acts as the seller of record. Its terms also apply to your purchase.
- Credits never expire. They have no cash value, can't be transferred or sold, and can only be used on changebg.
- An HD photo uses 1 credit; a photo background or blur uses 1 more. A one-time purchase covers one HD download and may be tried on up to 3 photos first.
- We may change prices for future purchases. Credits you already have keep their value in photos.
4. Refunds
Refunds follow our refund policy. In short: one-time purchases are non-refundable, and credit-pack refunds are returned as credits. This doesn't affect any rights you have under the law where you live.
5. Your photos and results
- You keep all rights to the photos you upload and the images you create. We don't claim ownership and don't store your photos (see our privacy policy).
- You must have the right to use the photos you upload, and you're responsible for how you use the results.
- Backgrounds from our library are free to use as part of images you make with changebg, including commercially. Don't redistribute the library itself as a collection.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use changebg to:
- process images that are illegal, sexualise minors, or that you have no right to use;
- impersonate, harass or deceive people, or make misleading images of real people without their consent;
- scrape, overload, reverse engineer or get around the limits, payments or security of the service, or access it with automated tools except as we allow.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Unused credits on accounts closed for abuse may be forfeited.
7. Results "as is"
Automatic background removal isn't perfect on every photo. You see the HD result before you download it. The service and its results are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits or data), and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
9. Closing your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing support. Unused credits aren't refunded as money when you close your account.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and tell account holders by email about significant changes. If you keep using changebg after that, the new terms apply.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protections of the law where you live.
