Don’t edit the background
Many passport offices reject digitally altered photos, including replaced backgrounds. Take the photo against a plain, light wall with even light instead, then only crop and resize it.
Make one at home
- Stand half a metre in front of a plain, light wall; have someone take the photo at eye level from about 1.5 m.
- Neutral expression, mouth closed, no glasses (for most countries), face square to the camera.
- Crop and size it with VisaPhotos.app, or for these six documents with the free passport photo maker, which also makes a 4 × 6 in print sheet.
